I bought the plans for this house some 9 months ago. We have now completed the house and have moved in. The house is fantastic. We made a few changes, have full basement, extended the porch, added deck and few other changes. Will send pictures if you like. Modifications!

My wife and I had been looking at various house plans trying to find a good starting design to compliment our building site. We knew the general shape and features we wanted, and in conversations with a few local builders, they recommended if we could find a house already designed, it would be more economical than designing a house from scratch.

We started searching online and came across a craftsman design – house plan 18223BE – on ArchitecturalDesigns.com that was just about perfect. We purchased the plans knowing there were some changes we wanted to make. They quoted a price on my changes and told me I would work directly with the designer on them. We agreed to have them done.

I believe the designer contacted me within a day or so of my purchasing the plans. We mostly conversed through e-mail, but there were a number of occasions where the designer called to speak with me so he was 100% sure what we were looking to do. He also recommended some changes that we wouldn't have thought of otherwise.

Keep in mind, that all these changes were taking place when we were 1,000 miles away from the designer. I was a little concerned at first, not working with someone local who I could sit down with, but he was able to understand all of our requirements and then some. I would recommend to anyone to use Architectural Designs for their house plan needs.

I just wanted you both to know just how pleased I am with your modification service for the plans we purchased from you (house plan 9371EL). He was very responsive, helpful, and detail oriented. He and his support staff did a great job, and our local authorities have now approved the plans and have recently issued our building permits. The designer usually answered the phone when I would call, yet if he was tied up, I always received a return call in a timely fashion. In short, I really appreciated working with him.

My builder was likewise impressed with the quality of the original drawings done by the designer, and he was also very pleased with the quality of the modifications you did. I spoke with original designer several times, and he was also very helpful, and his original design we purchased was very nice.

This has been a very positive experience, and I would be happy to recommend your firm and designers if I had the opportunity to do so.

I have spent a lot of time looking at house plans on the Web. Having spent all that time, I have to say I'm most impressed with your Web site. The Process!

As a first time home builder, I was really nervous about the entire process, especially designing a floor plan. What a relief to discover your site, with its dozens upon dozens of house designs. I love the way you let me select certain things I want (style, size, etc.) and then present only those plans. That way I didn't have to wade through houses that didn't "fit." If I survive this building process, I'll owe much of it to you folks at Architectural Designs and your home owner friendly approach to building a residence.

We've been searching the Internet for great house plans for a week, and your site is terrific! Loads of wonderful plans to slobber over.... We're looking for a lot in Southington, CT, so I was excited to see that a creative architect was a "neighbor."
